Cooperation ÖVFA - CFA Society Austria - Kick Off Event (Webex)

As already announced, we plan to bring an OEVFA and CFA Austria cooperation to life. To this end, we want to organize a joint kick-off event at which the four joint working groups are constituted and offer the opportunity for a first, broad exchange of ideas.

The plan was of course a physical or hybrid meeting. However, this does not appear to be possible in the foreseeable future, which is why we are now inviting you to a digital meeting on November 11th, 6 p.m. with the following agenda:

  1. Presentation of the cooperation (motivation, content, goals)

  2. Proposal regarding Working groups

  3. Constitution of the working groups

  4. Next steps

  5. Virtual get-together in the working groups (everyone can open a beer for themselves)

What topics are we addressing? At the beginning we want to set up four working groups on the following topics:

  1. Research standards and methods of financial analysis: This working group deals with the establishment and further development of research standards and should serve as a discussion platform for research methods (e.g. valuation methods). The working group has the task of cooperating with university institutions in this regard and acting as contact with authorities. The revision of the Austrian principles of proper financial analysis should be one of the first tasks.
    Lead: Bernd Maurer, Henning Eßkuchen

  2. Capital market Austria: This permanent working group aims to promote a professional discourse on national capital market issues (especially on the subject of retirement provisions) and will cooperate accordingly with other capital market participants (Vienna Stock Exchange, CIRA, IVA, Aktienforum, VOIG).

    Lead: Fritz Mostböck, Stefan Maxian

  3. ESG: This working group deals with the implementation and further development of international ESG research and asset management standards in Austria and coordinates its activities with CIRA and VOIG and the working group for corporate governance.

    Lead: Albert Reiter

  4. FinTec: This AG deals with new technologies and their effects on the capital market (blockchain, AI / artificial intelligence, etc.).

    Lead: Stefan Kainz

Please contact office@ovfa.at or office@cfaaustria.org if you are interested in the meeting or in participating in a working group.
